Eintracht Frankfurt successful with appeal

Eintracht Frankfurt was successful with its appeal against the blockade imposed by the European Football Union (UEFA) and obtained an adjustment to the original penalty.

As the Bundesliga club announced, the block ban for the home game in the Europa League round of 16 in the lower tier of the home area has now been suspended for two years on probation. In addition, the initially scheduled fine was reduced from 30,000 to 15,000 euros.

In November, firecrackers were thrown from the fan block behind the goal in the 2-2 draw against Royal Antwerp. The club has now identified a perpetrator, which “essentially” led to the adjustment of the verdict.
