After the field final, the women of Düsseldorfer HC and Mannheimer HC now face each other indoors in the final of the German Hockey Championship.
The MHC won its semifinals in Düsseldorf 2:1 after a penalty shoot-out against Rot-Weiss Köln. Previously, the DHC had defeated the defending champion Club an der Alster 7: 4 (4: 3) and was thus drawn into the indoor final for the fourth time in a row.
“Defensive was our strength again today,” said captain Selin Oruz. With a view to the final at home and the double that is now possible, the international added: “Now it only counts to get the thing. Victory in the hometown would be a dream.” Match winner in the Mannheim shootout was Sonja Zimmermann with both goals. After regulation time it was 2:2 (0:2).
