The German Football Association (DFB) will stick to the budget of 150 million euros for the new building of its headquarters, which is about to be completed. The association announced this on Monday and thus explicitly contradicted statements by treasurer candidate Ralf Viktora.
Viktora, who belongs to the team of DFB presidential candidate Peter Peters, had previously commented on kicker. “According to my information, the 150 million euros that the extraordinary DFB Bundestag approved as construction costs will not be sufficient,” said Viktora, who wants to be elected to the Bundestag on March 11th.
The DFB, which intends to move to its new headquarters in Frankfurt’s Niederrad district in February, said: “This claim or the information on which it is based is incorrect. The construction budget approved by the Extraordinary DFB Bundestag is being met or undercut.”
