DEL: Kölner Haie and Red Bull Munich duel in the opening game

The Kölner Haie and runners-up Red Bull Munich open the new season in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). As the league announced when the schedule was published, the game will take place on September 15 in the Rhine metropolis.

Defending champions Eisbären Berlin are challenged for the first time three days later by the Nürnberg Ice Tigers. Newcomer Löwen Frankfurt starts on September 16 with the Grizzlies Wolfsburg. A highlight awaits on December 3rd with the Winter Game in the Cologne football stadium between the Haie and Adler Mannheim.

Because the league consists of 15 teams, each team has four of the 56 main round game days off. The point quotient will also be decisive for the placement of the clubs in the coming season.

The pre-play-offs are scheduled to begin on March 8, 2023 (best-of-three format). All subsequent rounds will be played in “Best-of-Seven” mode. Should there be a seventh game in the final, the champion will be crowned on April 27, 2023.

MagentaSport broadcasts all games live, “ServusTV” shows one game live on free TV every week.
