Record world champion Phil Taylor suffered a clear defeat at the senior darts world championship. The 61-year-old Englishman, nicknamed “The Power”, lost his quarterfinals 3-0 against compatriot Kevin Painter and has to watch the final day as a spectator.
Already in his first match against Peter Manley (also England) Taylor was not convincing at 3:1. The Senior World Championships in Purfleet will be held for the first time. In addition to Taylor’s conqueror Painter, Robert Thornton (Scotland) and the English Terry Jenkins and Martin Adams are in the semi-finals.
