The use of national player Sara Däbritz at the European Championship opener of the German soccer team against Denmark is questionable due to slight muscular problems.
Three days before the first group game on Friday (9 p.m. / ZDF and DAZN), assistant coach Britta Carlson was able to give the all-clear: “The aim is for her to be able to train on Wednesday.” Then you will see “how the days are enough for the first game.”
Däbritz made a “good impression” in individual training on Tuesday morning with the “careful” build-up. She had already completed an individual program on Monday: “We don’t want to take any risks, the tournament is coming up. If we had a final game now, we could have used her.”
With 86 caps, Däbritz is the most experienced player in the DFB squad after captain Alexandra Popp (114 caps). The 27-year-old was the last to join the DFB team in preparation because the season in France ended later.
The second group opponent, also in London-Brentford, is title candidate Spain (July 12), four days later they face Finland in Milton Keynes.
