Less than 24 hours after entering the EuroLeague play-offs, the basketball players of FC Bayern Munich suffered an expected defeat without a large number of rested professionals and head coach Andrea Trinchieri.

“In view of this unprecedented schedule and the short rotation that we have had to play with for some time now, we are facing completely new challenges in terms of load management,” sporting director Daniele Baiesi explained the decision.

The Munich team qualified for the quarter-finals of the EuroLeague for the second time in a row on Friday evening with a clear victory over Red Star Belgrade (82:57). The program stays tough.
Bayern play at Fenerbahce Istanbul on Monday, at Anadolu Istanbul on Wednesday, at Real Madrid on Friday and in Giessen on Sunday.
