Change from Denis Zakaria to Juventus shortly before the end – BVB and FC Bayern are left empty-handed

Denis Zakaria’s transfer to Juventus is said to be nearing completion. Several Italian media unanimously report an agreement.

Both the “Gazetta dello Sport” as well as the Italian offshoot of “goal” report that Juventus Turin has agreed with Borussia Mönchengladbach on a transfer of Denis Zakaria. The Swiss should arrive in Italy on Sunday and then complete the medical check on Monday.

According to the daily, the “Bianconeri” will immediately transfer five million euros for the 25-year-old defensive specialist and another three million euros could follow in the form of bonuses.

First it was said that the Bundesliga club was demanding seven million euros for the services of the midfielder, whose contract expires in the summer. Zakaria is expected to sign a contract with the top Italian club until 2026.

Zakaria: FC Bayern and BVB get nothing

This could soon be the end of a long-lasting transfer saga. Gladbach hoped for a long time that the player could still decide to extend his contract.

From the Bundesliga, both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing the Swiss international, but neither club considered a January transfer. The record champions and BVB would much rather have made a free transfer in the summer, but apparently nothing will come of it now.

On Sunday morning, Gladbach Vice President Rainer Bonhof said that Juventus had not yet contacted us. “In principle, we have nothing in our hands, so we can’t confirm or deny anything,” said the 69-year-old in the “Sport1” double pass. During the day, the “old lady” probably intensified the transfer activities.
