The online retailer Amazon has acquired the TV rights for the Champions League in Great Britain. From 2024 to 2027, the global company will be allowed to broadcast a game of your choice online for all Prime Video customers on its website on every Tuesday on which the premier class is played.
According to estimates, Amazon has to pay around 575 million euros for this. So far, the company had only bought the rights for 20 Premier League games a year.
From 2024, the Champions League will be played in a new format with 36 instead of 24 teams and 189 instead of 125 games.
