In the constant search for promising talent, Borussia Dortmund has apparently now set their sights on a jewel from the Italian third division.
According to information from the portal “lacasadic.com” BVB has “strong interest” in 17-year-old Marco Delle Monache from Delfino Pescara.
Accordingly, the attention of the black and yellow has focused on the left wing in recent weeks.
Delle Monache has been part of the Serie C club’s professional squad since this season. The attacker has already made seven appearances. Most of the time he was used in the U19s. There he scored one goal in 16 games and prepared five more goals. The youngster has already played nine games for Italy’s U17 national team.
In Italy, Delle Monache is already being compared to European champion Lorenzo Insigne. Both are quite short, have strong dribbling skills and are very sure of the ball in tight spaces.
Delle Monache’s contract with Delfino Pescara runs until 2024.
Borussia Dortmund is probably not the only club that has put out feelers for the offensive player. According to the report, Italian clubs such as Sampdoria Genoa or Fiorentina are also interested in Delle Monache.
BVB proves lucky with talents
In the past, Borussia Dortmund has often had a lucky hand when it comes to the transfer of young players. For example, Jadon Sancho switched from Manchester City to BVB at the age of 17. At the Revierklub he matured into a Bundesliga star before he was sold to Manchester United for 85 million euros in 2021.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, a player who switched to the Black and Yellows at the tender age of 16, is also currently pushing into the BVB professional squad.
At just 17, Bynoe-Gittens was already excelling at the U-Juniors, scoring six goals in five Youth League games. A professional contract has already been signed.
