BVB apparently wants to poach at Sporting

In terms of sport, things could be better for BVB at the moment, but the appeal of Dortmund for young players is undiminished. Many talents dream of becoming the new Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho or Jude Bellingham with the black and yellow. According to a report, two teenagers from the traditional Portuguese club Sporting CP have now been targeted by the Borussia scouts.

Hardly any club in Europe is seen as a better career springboard for youngsters than BVB. With remarkable regularity, hitherto largely unknown talents develop into shooting stars among the Westphalians, who multiply their market value in a very short time.

According to information from the Portuguese sports newspaper “A Bola”, the two 16-year-old rough diamonds Dario Essugo and Rodrigo Ribeiro from Dortmund’s Champions League opponents Sporting could soon also find their way to Germany.

A Borussia scout is said to have been in Lisbon recently to see the youngsters in the second team in action. Essugo, who has already surfed once for the pros in the premier class, usually acts in eighth place, while Ribeiro feels most comfortable as a hanging leader.

BVB would probably have to dig deep into their pockets

However, the two junior national players from Portugal would not be favorable for BVB, their contracts with Sporting are still valid until 2024 and 2025 respectively. And it is well known that talents from the country of the 2016 European champion rarely go abroad for ridiculous prices.

It is not known whether Dortmund is already considering transfers of the Lisbon youngsters or whether they are viewed as an option in the future.

However, it could be urgent: Especially with Dario Essugo, several well-funded top clubs from Europe are in the running.
