Some of the newcomers to Borussia Dortmund for the coming season have been fixed for months. Now BVB has finally announced which jersey numbers the reinforcements for the Westphalia will wear.
Borussia Dortmund can already look back on an excellent summer of transfers. After those responsible for the new sports director Sebastian Kehl had indicated a change, they actually delivered on the transfer front.
In the person of Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck, the central defense of the future was tightened. With Karim Adeyemi, there is also a highly talented offensive player that other clubs would have been only too happy to secure. The signing of Salih Özcan also seems valid as a makeover in midfield.
BVB announced on Monday which jersey numbers the new quartet will receive. And for the majority of the newcomers, not much is changing.
Schlotterbeck (number 4), Adeyemi (number 27) and Özcan (number 6) can each look forward to the same number they already had at their former clubs.
BVB demands over 100 euros for the new jerseys
Only with Niklas Süle there is a change. The defender wore the number 4 at Bayern Munich, but now he is number 25 in Dortmund. However, the central defender does not have to change completely. He already wore this number on his back during his time at TSG Hoffenheim.
Rather, the time in Munich was a special case for him because his old jersey number was already occupied by Thomas Müller.
From now on, BVB fans can now buy the jerseys of their new favorites. However, the shirts worn by BVB players are not cheap. With flocking and the Bundesliga logo, Borussia charges 101.97 euros for the shirts for the coming season.
Nevertheless, many supporters apparently wanted to access it immediately. Immediately after the numbers were announced, the Dortmund online shop collapsed for a short time. The fans had to stand in a virtual line before they could buy a shirt.
