BVB and Bayern Flirt announces farewell: “A good moment”

The search for a new right-back could turn into a real bargain hunt for both FC Bayern and BVB. Both Bundesliga clubs are said to be interested in Ajax star Noussair Mazraoui, who has now announced his departure from the Dutch record champions.

Both in Munich and in Dortmund there is a need for action on the right-back position. Bayern are looking for a replacement for Bouna Sarr, BVB would look good with an alternative for Thomas Meunier. Ajax Amsterdam’s Noussair Mazraoui is one of the players the two Bundesliga clubs are said to have singled out as a possible candidate.

So far it was not entirely clear whether the full-back would extend his contract in Amsterdam, which expires at the end of the season. There was speculation about a farewell, but neither the player nor the club wanted to comment specifically.

In an interview with “ESPN NL”, Mazraoui officially declared that he wanted to leave the club in the summer.

“I think the chance that I’ll stay at Ajax is very small. Maybe five percent,” said the Moroccan international, who then openly admitted: “I’m open to a new challenge. I’ve played here for 16 years and I think so that it’s a good moment to go.”

Big competition for Bayern and BVB

FC Bayern is said to have been interested in Mazraoui’s commitment last summer, and the Spanish media have expressed interest in BVB in recent days.

Although Munich and Dortmund would offer the full-back an attractive sporting and financial perspective, the negotiations are likely to be complicated. The reason: the group of potential buyers is large. Arsenal FC and Leeds United, AS Roma and FC Barcelona are currently being traded as possible buyers.
