Brentford FC want Christian Eriksen

According to a report, Premier League promoted FC Brentford want to sign the contractless Danish football international Christian Eriksen.

According to online magazine The Athletic, the London club, currently 14th in the table, have offered 29-year-old Eriksen a six-month contract with an option to extend for another season.

Eriksen collapsed from cardiac arrest during the group stage match against Finland at last year’s European Championship and had to be resuscitated. A defibrillator was then inserted into the midfielder.

The contract with his club Inter Milan was terminated because he is not allowed to play in the Italian Serie A with a defibrillator in place.

Eriksen had only recently confirmed his ambitions to return to football and expressed hope of playing with Denmark at the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

In England, he played for Tottenham Hotspur from 2013 to 2020. He played more than 300 games for Spurs.
