The star of the Washington Wizards, Bradley Beal, will undergo surgery on his right wrist that will keep him away from the courts for the rest of the season, as reported by the journalist from ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski.
Previously, journalist Marc Stein had reported that the franchise was evaluating the condition of the escort’s wrist, while considering alternative treatment options to going through the operating room. However, player and organization have ended up deciding that surgery is the best option.
Beal is under contract with the Wizards through next season, with this final year subject to a $36.4 million player option. If he rejects it, he will be eligible to sign a new agreement for five years and 245.6 million, according to Bobby Marks.
This new scenario will further fuel speculation about Beal’s future at the Wizards. Chase Hughes from NBC Sports Washington had revealed that the player and his agent, Mark Bartelstein, met with the Wizards’ executive leadership before they played Miami. And it is very possible that the reason for the meeting revolved, among other things, around this resolution.
Thus, Beal will put an end to this campaign with numbers of 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists in a total of 40 games.
