The Celtics have made one of the movements of the current market by acquiring Malcolm Brogdon via transfer. Not a few have pointed to the former Indiana player as the point guard (playmaker) that the Greens needed. However, and faced with what one might think at first, Boston’s plan would not be to give Brogdon the baton of the game, but to have him come off the bench.
As reported by Mark Murphy of Boston Herald, the initial idea of the Celtics is to continue with its double alignment of pivots; that is, Al Horford and Robert Williams would keep their title. It is this scheme that leaves Brogdon on the bench as a sixth man, as Marcus Smart would also be in the quintet they would start games with.
