FC Bayern would like to extend Serge Gnabry. But the international is still reluctant to sign. Instead, the winger is now causing a stir with an Instagram post.
While other Bundesliga clubs have resumed training for the upcoming season, the FC Bayern stars are still on vacation. Serge Gnabry shares it with his numerous followers on social media. On Wednesday, the 26-year-old published a picture on his Instagram story that shows him on a bench with his cell phone. So far, so unspectacular.
Meanwhile, his cap is a topic of conversation. As “picture“, the headgear is a special edition of the sporting goods manufacturer Adidas with the skateboard company Palace and the Italian first division soccer team Juventus Turin.
Although the Juve logo cannot be seen in the snapshot, according to the tabloid, the club emblem is only hidden. Only the player himself knows whether the fashion-conscious Gnabry wants to fuel speculation about the change with the picture or simply has a preference for the cap in question.
FC Bayern hopes for Gnabry extension
The fact is: Gnabry is still reluctant to extend his contract at Bayern. The current working paper is only dated until 2023. Thus, the Munich team could take a high transfer fee for the DFB star for the last time this summer.
“He’s a great boy. We really want to keep him. We’d love to extend him,” said Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic recently in a “Sky” interview about Gnabry: “I think we have the necessary appreciation for him shown. I hope that he chooses Bayern Munich.”
Salihamidzic also made a clear statement to the right winger: “If a player doesn’t want to choose the club, then it’s only fair to tell the club so that a solution can be found for everyone involved that satisfies everyone.”
