Veteran Fin Bartels will stay with Holstein Kiel for another year.
The second division soccer club announced on Wednesday the contract extension of the 35-year-old offensive all-rounder until the summer of 2023. Born in Kiel, he returned to the Förde in 2020 after six years in the Bundesliga at Werder Bremen. Since then he has scored 17 competitive goals for Holstein.
“Fin Bartels is an important pillar of our team,” said Uwe Stöver, sporting director of the Kiel team: “With his immense experience of over 450 professional appearances and his footballing quality and routine, he has played his part in our successful path over the past year and a half contributed.”
