BVB attacker Erling Haaland is on the wish list of a number of top clubs for the coming summer. This includes FC Barcelona – although the Catalans are pursuing a two-pronged strategy.
Like the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” writes, a signing of the striker from Borussia Dortmund continues to have the highest priority at Barca. The Norwegian has what it takes to shape an era at the Spanish top club. Accordingly, they are ready to go to the full for Haaland there.
According to BVB media reports, the 21-year-old can leave in the summer for the fixed transfer fee of 75 million euros. In addition, however, there is a signing fee and salary, which will make the transfer an extremely expensive undertaking.
However, considering the financially more powerful competition from England and their own mountain of debt, which continues to dictate economic cuts, it is unclear to what extent Barca can really get involved in the bid for the top striker.
According to “Mundo Deportivo”, FC Barcelona is therefore trying not to spread too much optimism about the personnel. Especially since other transfers are to take place in the summer.
Barcelona competes with FC Bayern for Rüdiger and Co.
Finally, the club management have also identified construction sites in other positions that need to be addressed in the next change window.
The problem areas mentioned are the central defense and the two defensive flanks. In order to reconcile reinforcements in these positions with a Haaland obligation, the new defenders should primarily be free transfer players or those for whom only a small transfer fee would be due.
Andreas Christensen and national player Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea are on the FC Barcelona list for the center of defence. FC Bayern was also said to be interested in both players.
The paper names César Azpilicueta (Chelsea FC), José Gaya (FC Valencia) and Alejandro Grimaldo (Benfica) as candidates on the wings.
