Athletics: Lückenkemper satisfied with indoor comeback

Sprinter Gina Lückenkemper finished fifth on her comeback 1099 days after her last indoor competition.

The 25-year-old from SCC Berlin ran the sprint over 60 meters in 7.33 seconds. In front of 1500 spectators in the Berlin Arena, the British Daryll Neita won in 7.15 seconds ahead of Zaynab Dosso from Italy (7.28) and Sophia Junk. The 22-year-old from LG Rhein-Wied ran a personal best of 7.29 seconds.

Lückenkemper, who after a bad start in the preliminary heat had reached the final in third place in 7.36 seconds, was satisfied despite fifth place, at least with the run in the final. “In the lead-up I died in beauty in the first 20 meters,” said the sprinter.
