Aston Martin revs up Vettel’s new engine for the first time

Two days before the presentation of its new Formula 1 car for the 2022 season, Aston Martin has already revved up the engine of the AMR22.

In the factory of the works team at Silverstone, the mechanics fired up the Mercedes engine, which is also in Sebastian Vettel’s green racer this year, for the first time (publicly) during the traditional “fire up”.

When Aston Martin unveils the new Vettel racer in the classic British Racing Green on Thursday, RTL will of course be there as a Formula 1 broadcaster. On the sidelines of the presentation, Vettel answered questions from RTL F1 reporter Felix Görner in an exclusive interview.

We will broadcast live from 3:30 p.m. on, and on the RTL YouTube channel. Presenter Lisa Höfer takes a look at the upcoming season with F1 expert Peter Reichert, before Felix Görner asks Sebastian Vettel about the new Aston Martin, his goal for the season, but also about environmental protection in an exclusive interview.

Aston Martin under pressure

Aston Martin is under pressure in Formula 1 in 2022. Last year, despite the injection of millions from team owner Lawrence Stroll, the team fell far short of expectations and only finished 7th in the Constructors’ Championship. WM but also not beyond the 12th place.

This season, the Greens want to be much closer to the top – only the engine should really howl.
