The Los Angeles Lakers from the North American basketball professional league NBA have apparently targeted another candidate in their search for a successor to the fired master coach Frank Vogel.
According to information from “ESPN”, the team of superstar LeBron James spoke to Terry Stotts, longtime coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, about a possible engagement on Friday.
Stotts, 64, had made eight straight Western Conference playoffs with the Blazers before his release last year. In addition to Stotts, the Lakers are said to be interested in assistant coaches Darvin Ham (Milwaukee Bucks) and Adrian Griffin (Toronto Raptors).
Vogel was released in early April after missing the playoffs with the Californians. In 2020, the 48-year-old had led the Lakers to the 17th NBA title in franchise history.
