Will the 2022 MotoGP season be Andrea Dovizioso’s farewell season? The Italian only has a one-year contract. At RNF-Yamaha, the former vice world champion receives the latest factory equipment.
Compared to his appearances at the end of the 2021 season, Dovizioso has to improve if he also wants to be there in 2023.
“Last year was a strange year and it will be the same this year. I don’t have any plans for the future yet. That’s the reality,” commented Dovizioso. “It’s not that I don’t want to talk about it. I’m approaching the season like it’s my last season because I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Dovizioso knows he has to be up front if he wants to earn a place. “It always all depends on the results. If the results are good then there should be no problems. If the results are not good then that’s the way it is.”
“I’m approaching the season like it’s my last because my approach isn’t changing anyway. I’m completely relaxed because I don’t have any control over what happens next year. On the other hand, I don’t even want a contract for next year, because I don’t yet know what I want to do,” remarks the former Ducati factory pilot.
“But it’s all closely related to the results. Because if you’re fast, you enjoy it. If you’re not fast, it’s not fun, especially at this point in my career. So I’m completely relaxed.” , so “Dovi”.
