Amount of Vindheim’s purchase clause revealed

Andreas Vindheim has only been on loan from FC Schalke 04 until the summer, but it has now been revealed how much the right-back would cost in the event of a permanent transfer.

He could become the X factor in FC Schalke 04’s promotion plans: Andreas Vindheim proved that in his first game for the Royal Blues. In the 5-0 win at Erzgebirge Aue, the new winter signing made a perfect start with one goal and three goals.

“I couldn’t have dreamed of a better start,” said the 26-year-old Norwegian to “Sport 1” after the clear away win, the highest since 7-0 at FC Bayern in 1976. It is quite possible that the dream debut will be followed by a long future at S04, because there is apparently a purchase clause in Vindheim’s contract.

In the summer, the Royal Blues can sign the defender, who is actually tied to Sparta Prague until 2024, according to information from “Sport Bild”. The fee is 1.3 million euros.

The purchase option for Vindheim applies both to non-promotion and to a successful return to the Bundesliga. In both cases, Vindheim would cost the same amount.

What makes the Norwegian very special for Schalke, even without a possible permanent transfer: his loan costs nothing. The Royal Blues do not have to pay a fee to Sparta Prague, where he was only considered six times in the first half of the season for mostly shorter appearances.

Vindheim: Wants to play against FC Bayern with Schalke

In Gelsenkirchen, on the other hand, Vindheim should become a regular after his strong start. At Schalke, he and left winger Thomas Ouwejan should provide sharp crosses in the middle. S04 scouts had previously observed that he can do this and therefore put the Norwegian at the top of the list.

For Vindheim it is already clear where the path should go. “I want to play against Bayern and Dortmund,” he said recently. For the 26-year-old, his new club belongs in the upper house. “Schalke have everything it takes to get promoted.”

The return to the top floor is “the club’s ambition, the team’s ambition and my ambition”.
