3-pointer to finish Minnesota on the last gasp

Fantastic final meeting which was lived last night in New Orleans. In a constant give and take in the last minutes between Pelicans and Timberwolves, it was the first who ended up singing victory thanks to a Brandon Ingram basket that definitively broke the equality to establish the final 128-125.

The Louisiana forward finished with 33 points (including 5 of 6 from 3-pointers), 9 assists and 4 rebounds. He was the guide of a team that has won two of its last three games and that remains on the lookout for the last place and play-in, which have a game and a half.

“I wasn’t necessarily looking to shoot every time the ball passed my hands. But I felt good. I felt in rhythm and my teammates found me, “says Ingram after scoring 10 of his team’s last 11 points against the Wolves.

Beyond the enormous contribution of their All-Star player, the Pelicans had the collaboration of a successful Josh Hart who went up to 21 points, as well as the inner solvency of Jonas Valanciunas, who would close his performance with a double- double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to which he added 5 assists.

Towns, annoyed

The Timberwolves entered the clash after four consecutive victories and, despite having the option to win until the end, they left feeling that they could have done more. At least that’s how Karl-Anthony Towns, author of 26 points and 8 rebounds, feels.

“We acted as if it was certain that we were going to jump onto the court and get the victory, as if everything was going to be sweet. I don’t know if we suddenly think we are the Warriors… We tried to flip a switch, but the switch didn’t work. We finally made some shots to get into the game. It is not the way to win a basketball game. I felt that we played with the hope that they would give us the game, “he says.

Despite the loss, the center was well accompanied by Anthony Edwards’ 26 points (6 of 12 from 3-pointers) and the double-double of 18 points and 10 assists that D’Angelo Russell completed.
